Welcome to the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.

The STM, as we have come to call it, is an international academic theological center that trains lay and religious men and women for leadership and service in the Church and the world.

Academic rigor and excellence is our highest priority.  Students are challenged in the classroom by a first rate faculty to understand and explore the vast theological tradition of our faith and appropriate that faith to respond to the difficult questions that face the Church today.  The Jesuit tradition of holistic education is embodied in the School's commitment to the comprehensive academic, pastoral, and spiritual formation of all of our students.

With 27 full-time faculty members, combined with another 32 members in the Department of Theology, Boston College has one of the largest and most distinguished theological faculties in the world.  In addition to our own offerings, the STM is a member of the Boston Theological Institute, one of America's most respected consortia of divinity schools, graduate schools, and theological centers in which our students can take courses offered by faculty of other religious and faith traditions, making Boston a global center for the study of theology, and attracting the very best and brightest in our field.

Once again, thank you for interest and welcome.  Please let our admissions office know if you are interested in learning more about us.
