Maryanne is in her first year as an undergraduate research fellow. She is currently working with Dr. Ann Burgess to write up a study about drug and alcohol use in High School students, College-aged students and internet sex offenders.

Sania is in her second year as an undergraduate research fellow, working with Dr. Angela Amar on a research study focusing on the availability and utilization of campus resources for college women to promote help seeking behaviors.

Kathryn is currently working with Professor Melissa Sutherland on a project titled "Nutritional Screening in 3-5 Year Olds in Rural Jamaica."

Molly Byrnes '11

Molly is in her second year working with Professor Joyce Pulcini.  She is assisting on research for effective interventions for school nurses working with asthmatics and children with life-threatening allergies.

Maria Cardiello '11

Maria is is currently working with Dr. Angela Amar on several research projects, including how college campuses respond to sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence.

Selina Chan '12

Selina is in her first year as an undergraduate research fellow and she is currently working with Dr. Danny Willis and his team on his research project titled, “Adult Male Survivors Healing from Childhood Maltreatment.”

Melanie Chang '13

Melanie is in her first year as an undergraduate research fellow working with Dr. Stacey Barone. Currently, she is working on two projects: one that assesses nursing students' attitudes towards working with the elderly in acute care settings, and one on adaptation to spinal cord injury.

Myriam is working with Professor Angela Amar as an undergraduate research fellow. She is researching how college campuses respond to sexual assault through surveys, annual security reports, and bystander education.

Nguyet Chau '12

Nguyet is working with Dr. Rosanna DeMarco on a primary prevention study that involves translating information on HIV/AIDS based on the film Women's Voices: Women's Lives (a documentary about women living with HIV/AIDS) into Vietnamese as a way to reach out to the Vietnamese community.

Jacquelyn is in her third year working with Dr. Robin Wood, assisting with her research in breast cancer risk appraisal in elderly women. After she graduates, Jacquelyn hopes to pursue a master's degree to become a nurse practitioner

Sarah Connor '11

Sarah is in her first year working as an undergraduate research fellow. Sarah is working with Dr Nancy Allen and her research on diabetes care related to diet, exercise and self-efficacy. Sarah also works on research related to life after bariatric surgery.

Caitlin is working with Professor Kelly Stamp on her research on the incorporation of PDA technology into the undergraduate nursing curriculum, and its effects on clinical decision-making.

Beth is working in collaboration with Sister Callista Roy to explore how published research on spirituality using the Roy Adaptation Model as a conceptual framework has evolved over the past 35 years using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Amy is working with Dr. Katherine Gregory. The research project involves studying the effects of nutrition on the development of the premature gastrointestinal system in infants. She is currently entering the data gathered in the hospital into a computerized database.

Shiva is in her second year as an undergraduate research fellow and her first year working with Dr. Rosanna DeMarco. She is working on gathering data for research study incorporating a film on women living with HIV/AIDS (Women's Voices Women's Lives).

Morgan is working with Dr. McClain on childhood sexual abuse and maltreatment. Currently, she is helping Dr. McClain’s with literature searches, IRB approval, and hopefully later on, assisting in developing her publication.

Christy is working with Professor June Horowitz in her research regarding nursing interventions for mothers with postpartum depression as it relates to the mother-infant relationship and infant development.

Elyse is working with Dr. Gennaro and Heidi Fantasia on a research study concerning premature labor in African-American women in the Bronx, NY.  We are trying to find a correlation between the two, and if there is one, what the main causes are.

Melissa Zaniewski '12

Melissa is working with Dr. Deborah Sampson as her undergraduate research fellow. The research involves gathering archival material relating to the Halifax disaster of 1917, particularly the role that the nurses from Massachusetts played in the relief efforts. The research also includes compiling a list of all of the nurses who were involved in the relief work, both from the United States and Canada.
