Is in her second year working as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is working with Dr. Dorothy Jones on research centered around nursing diagnoses.

Is in her first year working with Dr. Carina Katigbak in her research in the role of community health workers in Southeast African countries. She assists Dr. Katigbak in finding evidence-based research and reviewing the current literature.

Is in her second year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. This year, she is working with Dr. Ellen Mahoney researching the preparedness of representatives of individuals with dementia.

Michaela Cummings '14

Is currently working on a live survey determining the effects of a new, innovative activities-based program for clients with spinal-cord injuries by measuring the change in participant outcomes and associated relationships in regard to functional ability, depression, quality of life, coping, and complications. Michaela personally helped create the survey and now manages the data at each collection period. She has a great passion in the project and hopes to help those that run the clinic and the clients by validating the program's success for the clients and other persons with spinal-cord injuries, and possibly insurance companies.

Is in her year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow working with Professor Joyce Edmonds.  She is working with classmates Marissa Manhart to collect information regarding the obstetric experience of pregnant women in and around the greater Boston area.

Taylor Cwiertniewicz '14

Is in her second year working as an Undergraduate Research Fellow for Dr. Joyce Edmonds on issues involving maternal health and health seeking behavior. Last fall they developed an IRB approved cross-sectional descriptive study focused on the attitudes and beliefs of undergraduate college women towards medical intervention during the labor and delivery process and mode of delivery. They survey was launched in the spring and they are currently finalizing the date analysis and preparing a manuscript. Abstract submissions to Boston College's Alpha Chi Research Day at Boston College's Undergraduate Research Day are also being prepared.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is working with Dr. Katherine Gregory on her research studying pre-term infants.

Is working with Professor Ellen Mahoney on her research to evaluate how prepared caretakers of Alzheimer's patients are, how prepared they think they are, and what information and help these caretakers could use to improve their own life and the life of the person they are caring for.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She works alongside Dr. Allyssa Harris on evaluating the effects or urban literature on today's youth.  She helps Dr. Harris recruit and coordinate focus groups.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is currently working with Dr. Stewart Bond in an ongoing research study exploring delirium in advanced-stage cancer patients.

Is a senior participating in his first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. He is helping Dr. Viola Benavente with her research on cardiovascular health promotions in the Latino population.

Is a second-year Undergraduate Research Fellow working with Dr. Melissa Sutherland on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) statistics, knowledge, expectations, strategies, and interventions.

Is in her first year as Undergraduate Research Fellow.  She is working with Sister Callista Roy on her research to develop a Middle Range Theory on how to assess and intervene with patients who present with cluster symptoms.  This work will go on to help nurse-run clinic for the National Institute of Health.

Is in her second year working as an Undergraduate Research Fellow.  She is currently working alongside Dr. Colleen Simonelli on two projects related to labor and delivery and decreasing stress in nurses.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow for Dr. Ann Burgess. She is helping Dr. Burgess with statistical information for her current research on fetal abduction.

Is in her second year as an undergraduate research fellow.  She is working with Melissa Sutherland on her research around intimate partner violence and it's lasting impact on the victims and seeing what resources are available for those affected.

Is a senior nursing student in her first year working with Dr. Viola Benavente.  Together, Gianna and Dr. Benavente are studying health promotion and healthy literacy among the Latino population.

Is working with Dr. Lichuan Ye on two projects. One study focuses on how spouses or partners help patients adhere to their CPAP treatment following a sleep Apnea diagnosis, while the other involves researching the development of delirium in the ICU setting.

Is in her first year working as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is working with Sr. Callista Roy on her research to develop a theory about the correlation between cognitive ability and the ability to cope with chronic illnesses.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is working with Dr. Susan Kelly-Weeder to develop a web-based motivational intervention that addresses the co-occurrence of binge eating and binge drinking in college age students.

Is currently in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow with Dr. Lichuan Ye. She is working with Dr. Ye on her NIH funded research on the effects of sleep Apnea on patients and their partners and spousal involvement in CPAP use.

Is in his second year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow, this year working with Dr. Catherine Read. He is currently helping to explore the impact of the Keys to Inclusive Leadership in Nursing (KILN) program on leadership outcomes of participants.

Is a senior nursing student working with Professor Susan-DeSanto-Madeya in a study regarding oncology nurses views on the term healing. The holistic project will focus on spiritual, physiological and emotional healing as well as physical healing.

Is currently working with Dr. Joyce Edmonds on research related to maternal health and health seeking behavior.  Marissa is developing a descriptive study to assess obstetric triage units structure and work flow as complicated by women entering the hospital in early and latent stages of labor.

Is a second-year Undergraduate Research Fellow working with Dr. Dorothy Jones.  Focusing on the concept of Powers, Colleen will assist research working toward analyzing questions added to an existing tool that was distributing in May 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital. The tool measures staff and their perceptions of the practice environment around several elements including autonomy, control over practice, and teamwork.

Is in her second year of working with Dr. Kelly Stamp in her research on self-care behaviors in women with diastolic heart failure. They are currently researching literature that explores the nursing care needs that are specific to women living with heart failure.

Is in her second year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow working with Dr. Judith Shindul-Rothschild on data analysis comparing staffing in Massachusetts health care institutions with that of others across the country in terms of cost and its effect on consumer health care and insurance.

Is in her first year as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. She is working with Dr. Lichuan Ye on her NIH funded research, which focuses on the effect of spousal's involvement in patient's adherence to CPAP treatment. In additional, Dr. Ye has also invited Yvonne and the rest of her team to be a part of her ongoing research study on delirium in relation to sleep in ICU patients.
