Sr. Callista Roy presented the keynote adress "The Roy Adaptation Model Working to Satisfy the Needs of Society" to an audience of more than 1,500 nurse professionals, nursing students, professors and administrators from numerous states of Mexico and from the countries of Colombia, Panama, and the United States at the International Nursing Confernce.

San Luis Potosi, Mexico June 2nd-4th, 2008
Sr. Callista Roy traveled to San Luis Potosi, Mexico to lead a 3 day conference at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, June 2nd-4th, 2008. Presentations given to Nursing Faculty and Students included: "The Roy Adaptation Model: Philosophy and Science for Nursing Practice", "The Roy Adaptation Model and Application to Research" and "Roy Adaptation Model-Based Practice for Individuals and Groups." Sr. Callista also led workshops applying the model to practice and research and critiqued the research prohects presented by particpants from several states in Mexico.

University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo May 2nd, 2008
Sr. Callista Roy traveled to the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo to present 2 speeches, "Nursing Philosophy as a Basis for Practice" to the entire Academic Assembly as well as "Nursing Knowledge Based Practice and the Roy Adaptation Model" to the Nursing Faculty. The University presented her with the "Nursing Department Distinguished Award" on Friday, May 2nd, 2008.
