MANAGING DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY IN THE PRIMARY CARE SETTING

BACK PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR PRIMARY CARE
George Lantz, DO, MBA
Back pain is experienced at some time by up to 80% of the population. The differential diagnosis is broad and most patients will improve with time. The diagnostic challenge is to identify those who require more extensive or urgent evaluation. In this session, we will discuss evaluation and initial treatment of the patient with back pain. A systemic approach to the further evaluation and treatment, including imaging and referral, will be discussed
CARDIAC DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
Mary Macklin, MSN, APRN
There are a number of cardiac tests available to help work through the differential diagnoses for complaints such as chest discomfort, shortness of breath, and palpitations. This session will help the provider determine which cardiac tests are most appropriate, based on the individual patient situation.
FOOD ALLERGIES IN CHILDREN
Bonnie Proulx, MSN, APRN
Food allergies are more common in children and can have life threatening implications. This session will examine the most common food allergies in the pediatric population, as well as the diagnosis and management.
