TWENTY FIRST CENTURY MANAGEMENT OF BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA

During this session we will discuss BPH in detail including epidemiology, presenting symptoms, testing and diagnosis. Current treatment options will be reviewed. Participants will come away with a broader understanding of the current management guidelines and recommendations related to this common condition.

TOUGH TO TREAT: ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT INFECTION IN THE ACUTE CARE SETTING

Antibiotic resistance has become an increasingly common challenge and is most worrisome when treating the sickest patients. In the acute care setting, timely identification of the resistant organism and choosing the proper antibiotic is crucial. In this session, treatment strategies for infections such as c. difficile, vancomycin-resistant enterococci, methcillin-resistant staph aureus and other challenging infectious agents will be discussed.
