Conversational Medical Spanish II
bc continuing education
Classes will be conducted almost entirely in Spanish with a continued emphasis on conversation. Topics of grammar will include the preterite tense of regular, irregular and stem-changing verbs, object pronouns and the special construction with gustar, doler and hacer, reflexive verbs, prepositions por and para, and the imperfect vs. preterite tenses. We will focus more on medical terminology and the application of language to patient care, family planning, and dealing with various health emergencies with a focus on listening and reading comprehension. Students will be taught common terms used in the clinical setting as well as phrases and commands used during a physical assessment. There will also be more cultural notes to introduce as topics of conversation. Prerequisite: Conversational Medical Spanish I
