This course if designed to examine the components of human behavior that bring people into criminal justice setting and analyse the legal questions involved. Content covers forensic and behavioral interviewing, interrogation, the role of forensic mental health examiners, case formulation, DSM IV-R diagnosis, treatment modalities, criminal investigations and charges, state of mind duty to warn, memory and recall, malingering, and secondary gain. Forensic cases form the basis for discussion of each class topic.
