TWIN Awards to honor CSON faculty
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (March 2014) --
Associate Professor Judith Shindul-Rothschild, Clinical Assistant Professor Donna Cullinan, and Clinical Instructor Jacqueline Sly will receive the Teaching with New Media (TWIN) Awards from the Office of Instructional Design and eTeaching Services (IDeS).
Shindul-Rothschild, Cullinan and Sly are being honored for their work as early adopters of Canvas, a learning management system that will replace Blackboard Vista in summer 2014.
They were among the 100 early adopters who began working with IDeS during fall 2013.
TWIN awards recognize faculty members for outstanding uses of technology to enhance learning. Students have the opportunity to rate their instructors through an online submission form on categories such as innovation and effectiveness.
Each year in May, IDeS hosts an eTeaching Day event, a day-long program modeling uses of technology in teaching and innovative technology. This year they will be showcasing Canvas.
Instructors who have recently developed ebooks, web sites or similar resources are invited to demonstrate their projects at showcase events, and hands-on workshops. It gives faculty members an opportunity to learn new software and other tools.
TWIN Awards will be given out during the eTeaching Day event, which is set for Wednesday, May 14.
