The Asian American Scholarship has been awarded since 1995 to a junior who has demonstrated superior academic achievement, extracurricular leadership, community service, and involvement with the Asian American community and Asian American issues. In 2010, the scholarship was renamed to honor Benigno Aquino, who opposed the authoritarian Marcos regime in the Philippines, and his wife, Corazon, who became the first female president of the Philippines in 1986. The Aquino Scholarship awards up to $20,000 toward senior year tuition. This year’s winner was Krystle Jiang '13.
