Assistant Professor Deborah A. Sampson was chosen as the region 1 representative to sit on the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) Advisory Council-State Government Affairs. She was chosen for her expertise in health policy and nursing, including a senior advisory role at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in summer 2010.

The Advisory Council-State Government Affairs seeks to enhance communication with membership and professional experts to gain a broad based understanding of policy implication on various regions, practice settings, and professional relationships across the country.
