Parish nursing is a ministry to respond to health needs and coordinate resources for parishioners. Practiced within a faith community, the role of the parish nurse is based on the assessed needs of an individual congregation. The parish nurse works with the pastor, church staff and health ministry committee to integrate faith and health in the congregation. Financial support for the Cathedral Cares program provided by the local chapter of the Order of Malta. The Order of Malta is committed to the care of the sick and the poor and nurturing of the Catholic faith.
