Connell School Professor Ann Burgess is co-primary investigator on a
collaborative grant project with the Justice Resource Institute and
Villanova University, with the goal of reducing online sexual
victimization of children and adolescents. This two-year project will
build on pilot work supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention. The purpose of this proposed project is to
advance the much-needed empirical research required to combat online
sexual victimization of children and adolescents and improve Internet
safety strategies.
At the conclusion of their work, a monograph
will be distributed to professionals such as investigators,
prosecutors, parole and probation officers, educators, mental health
practitioners, and childcare workers, all working toward the same goal:
to reduce online sexual victimization of children and adolescents.
