The spring water from the grotto in Lourdes, France is believed to possess healing properties and is a sacred place in the Catholic Church. Millions of people have visited the shrine where Our Lady of Lourdes appeared to a peasant girl named Bernadette in the 1800s.
Through generous donations, students from the Connell School of Nursing have had the opportunity to visit Lourdes each spring since 2007. In their own words, students who participated in the Lourdes pilgrimage shared their stories of inspiration and healing. Read their stories below.
This program is open to select nursing school students. Contact Associate Dean of Undergraduate Program Catherine Read with questions.
