KILN Highlights: I appreciated that Linda Burnes Bolton presented a framework for a nurse's career that can be helpful when choosing a nursing specialty. She advocated that novice nurses begin their careers in acute care, transition to community health, where the nurse gains an understanding of the larger social structures that affect a community, and then transition into public health and policy-making.
