What is Provided

- Housing | Because of the collegial nature of the Institute, participants are asked to reside at Boston College's Summer Housing Residence, Stayer Hall, located on Boston College's Chestnut Hill Campus at 110 St. Thomas More Road.

  • Each person will have an air-conditioned, single room.
  • Bath will be shared with one other person
  • Linens provided (pillow, pillowcase, sheets, bedspread, towel)                                    Note: Participants are asked to provide any other linens/toiletries/materials that are not otherwise listed here.

- Meals | All meals for the week are provided except Wednesday evening.

  • Continental Breakfast will be served each morning on the fourth floor of the residence hall from 6:45-8:00am.
  • The daily schedule will designate the times and locations for lunch and dinner.
  • Every evening beginning at 8:00pm, refreshments will be available in the fourth floor residence hall lounge.

- Institute Binder | The Institute Binder includes a variety of materials, including

  • A schedule for each day
  • All necessary literature provided by Institute faculty
  • A campus map
  • Information flyers for suggested activities and restaurants while in Boston

- Parking Permit | Participants who informed the IACHE staff that they will arrive in automobiles will receive a rearview mirror hangtag when they check in at Stayer Residence Hall.

- Technology | The internet is accessible on all wifi-compatible devices using the Boston College network. Instructions for connecting to the network will be included in the Institute Binder.

  • Library Access: The O'Neill Library on campus has computers available that participants may use for Internet access.
  • Printing: Participants who require printing capabilities (particularly for boarding passes for departing flights) should inform the IACHE staff prior to the Institute.

- Exercise | Participants are encouraged to use the Boston College Recreation Complex (Rec Plex) throughout the Institute. 

  • Participants must show their Institute nametag to the attendant.
  • Hours are 6:00am-8:45pm
  • BC is also surrounded by beautiful residential neighborhoods and is adjacent to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, with a 1.5 mile gravel path for those interested in jogging or walking.
