2011 - 2012 MTEL Registration Now Available

The Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) website now has registration information for the 2011 - 2012 program year.  Candidates can now register for all test dates for the 2011 - 2012 program year on the MTEL website.

What’s New in 2011 – 2012?

Revision to ID Requirements for Paper-Based Testing

Candidates must present proper identification at the time of a paper-based test administration.  Proper identification for paper-based testing consists of one piece of current, government-issued identification printed in English, in the name in which the candidate registered, bearing a photograph and signature.  Candidates who do not have proper identification at the time of the test administration will be denied admission to the test session.  For more information on identification requirements for paper-based testing, see "What to Bring to the Test Site."

Electronic Score Reporting

Beginning with the October 28, 2011, score report date, candidate score reports will be released electronically on the score report dates listed in “Test Dates.”  For more information see “Score Reporting.”

Change in Passing Score Requirement for the General Curriculum Mathematics Subtest

Conditional passing scores will not be in use for the General Curriculum mathematics subtest after the May 12, 2012, test date.  As of July 2012, candidates taking this subtest will be required to achieve a passing score of 240.

Change to Computer-Based Testing Fee

The computer-based testing fee is now $25.
