The Lynch School of Education at Boston College endeavors to improve the human condition through education and applied psychology. The School pursues this goal through excellence and ethics in teaching, research, and service and preparing undergraduate and graduate students to serve diverse populations in a variety of professional roles - as teachers, administrators, human service providers, psychologists, and researchers. Through research, the Lynch School of Education seeks to advance knowledge and engage in collaborative school and community improvement efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.

The Educational Leadership Licensure Program is committed to preparing the next generation of effective P-12 educational leaders. The Program seeks to develop aspiring principals who can provide leadership for learning, create fair and meaningful opportunities to learn for all students, are knowledgeable about standards-based reform and technological advances, and employ evidence- based practices. The Program is committed to preparing school leaders who can collaborate effectively, foster leadership in others, and successfully engage families and community members. We seek to instill in our graduates a deep concern for human dignity, social justice, and responsible global citizenship.

The Catholic School Leadership Program is intended for people who have a teaching license and, a good religious education background, and are aspiring to a principalship, presidency, or superintendency of a Catholic or Christian School or School System.

Alternatively people with limited formal religious education who have a teaching license and and are aspiring to a principalship, presidency, or superintendency of a Catholic or Christian School or School System may pursue an M.Ed. in Religious Education with a concentration in Educational Administration.
