On Thursday, April 24, 2008, Dean O’Keefe spoke at the White House Summit on Inner-City Children and Faith-Based Schools. President Bush welcomed Fr. O’Keefe and his fellow panelists and stated that the purpose of the summit is to underscore the lack of educational options for low-income urban students, and to bring together educators, clergy, philanthropists, and business leaders who can influence policy and ensure that faith-based education is supported in the United States.
