Digital Commons @ BC Law Hits Two Million Downloads

download milestone marked by two new collections

11/11/13

Digital Commons @ Boston College Law School (http://lawdigitalcommons.bc.edu/), the law school’s institutional repository, recently received its two millionth full-text download in less than four years of its existence. This exciting milestone demonstrates the effectiveness of the repository in promoting the scholarly output of the law school.

Two new collections, both focused on BC law student publications were also added to Digital Commons this fall: Sui Juris and The Alledger. Sui Juris (not to be confused with the BC Law yearbook of the same title) was the publication of the law school’s Student Bar Association from 1956 to 1968, and it offers an earnest and compelling portrait of the law school during a period of growth. In contrast, The Alledger, published from 1981 until the mid-1990s, was an irreverent and often humorous student newspaper. Anyone interested in the history of the law school will find these publications to be a unique resource.
