Newton, MA--BC Law Professor Scott FitzGibbon is Editor in Chief of the newly published International Journal of the Jurisprudence of the Family (IJJF). An on-line academic journal, IJJF was established to foster the publication of scholarly works relating to the foundations of family life and family law.
IJJF seeks to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of the important role families play in the development of individuals and societies. By exploring the meanings of legal provisions meant to protect the family, IFFJ aims to promote a deeper understanding of the principal foundations of families and the standards of law and governmental policies through which family life is recognized and supported. The journal includes scholarly articles reflecting the array of cultures, legal systems, religions, and schools of jurisprudence.
The first volume of IJJF primarily focuses on subjects presented at a conference of the jurisprudence of the family that was held in Bratislava in the Slovak Republic in May of 2010.
As Editor in Chief, Professor Scott FitzGibbon supervises the editorial staff and works with Managing Editor Lynn D. Wardle, Bruce C. Hafen Professor of Law at J. Reuben Clark Law School.
