Newton, MA--The Boston College Women's Law Center (WLC) is hosting a Fall Reception and Mentoring event with BC Law Women Faculty and Students September 7th, at 3:30 pm in Barat House. This annual event provides an opportunity for students to re-connect with each other and with women faculty, to get to know women professors whose classes they are interested in taking, and to get to know women professors and students with which they might not otherwise have the opportunity to connect.

The BC WLC aims to impact both its membership and the entire BC Law community by hosting open events to build a supportive network for women at BC Law, creating and maintaining strong ties with women alumni to increase mentoring and information sharing about internship and job opportunities, and by providing a forum for discussion and debate about women's issues at BC Law.

This summer, the WLC hosted a Summer Alumnae Networking Event on July 15th on the patio at Tia's Boston, with over 50 alumnae and students in attendance. This was the first of what the Women's Law Center hopes will be an annual summer event. Last year, the BC Women's Law Center hosted a Summer Reception for Current Students, the Annual Fall Mentoring Event with BC Law Women Faculty Members and Students, Women@Weil: Life as a Female Attorney at a Global Law Firm, a Brown Bag Lunch on Tax and Trusts & Estates, and the Women's Law Center Annual Spring Reception with Keynote Speaker Chief Justice Lynda M. Connolly. The WLC co-hosted the WLC/Women's Bar Association Mentoring Circle with BC Women Alumnae, a Lecture by Melody Barnes: Director of the White House Domestic Policy Counsel, and A Conversation With Christine Bader, Advisor to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Business and Human Rights.
