3/12/09--BC Law’s Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) will be holding its 21st annual PILF Auction on Thursday, March 26 in the Heights Room of BC’s Main Campus, beginning at 5:00 pm. The auction is in honor of R. Robert Popeo '61, this year’s recipient of the annual Mary Daly Curtin and John J. Curtin Jr., Award for Public Interest.

Last years’ auction was a great success, raising approximately $20,000, and this year PILF hopes to raise even more. Items to be auctioned include Red Sox and Celtics tickets, hotel stays, Bar Review Discounts, personal training, sports memorabilia, and more. The online auction is now available at http://pilfauction2009.cmarket.com.  The proceeds from the auction will go towards PILF’s summer stipends.

PILF is a student organization that is dedicated to providing public interest law opportunities to students at BC Law School. These opportunities include funding student projects, sponsoring speakers, and providing students with PILF Summer Stipends so they can take unpaid positions at legal aid, non-profit and other public interest law organizations after their first and second years of law school.

PILF also works with BC Law school to increase the number of public interest course offerings, provide loan repayment assistance to BC Law graduates working in the public sector, and to support BC Law students interested in working in the public sector.
