11/10/08--The BC Law Veterans Association (BCLVA) will be hosting its annual Veterans Day presentation on Tuesday, November 11 in Stuart 315 during the common lunch hour. The event will feature student representatives from each branch of the armed services who will speak about their military experiences before law school.

Each speaker will give a 5-10 minute presentation, commenting on his military experience and will provide insight into the military lifestyle. "The idea is to highlight our military experiences for our classmates, and teach them a little about what life is like in the military--especially on deployment," said third-year student David Chen, president of BCLVA. There will be five speakers present, including 1L Chris Cleland, IL Josh Lindsay, and 2L James Martin.

"Last year was a great success, with standing room only," said Chen. "Questions ranged from veterans' experiences in Iraq to their thoughts on 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'."

According to tradition at BC Law, the active duty and reserve members of BCLVA will be wearing their uniforms with their awards and decorations on campus on the 11th.

BCLVA is composed of students and faculty that are currently or previously in the U.S. Armed Forces, interested in serving in the U.S. Armed Forces or interested in military-legal related issues.  The organization seeks to promote the interests of militarily affiliated law students and to provide a forum in which military issues may be discussed.
