Grimes Moot Court Finals
4/14/05--Boston College Law School will hold its annual internal moot court
competition finals on Wednesday, April 20 at 4:00 p.m. in room 120 of the East
Wing. The Wendell F. Grimes Moot Court will feature a three-judge panel and
two finalists teams, composed of Tracy Hresko and Joshua Marmol (Petitioner),
and Heather Castillo and Patrick Halazs (Respondents).
"We’re ready for a great competition,” said Director of Advocacy
Programs Tom Carey. “Once again we’re blessed to have wonderful
judges, and talented teams. The student chairs of the competition and all who
have participated in helping to make this year’s competition a success
have been great, and we thank them all for their hard work.”
The three participating judges are Judge Jose Cabranes from the US Court of
Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, Judge Faith Hochberg from the U.S. District Court
in New Jersey, and Justice Maura Corrigan of the Michigan Supreme Court.
This year’s question involves whether a City violates the Establishment
Clause of the First Amendment when it erects a Ten Commandments monument in
a public park. There will be a special reception following the competition,
held in Barat House on the Law School campus.
