Bankruptcy Symposium April 22
4/15/05--The American College of Bankruptcy and the Boston College Law Review are pleased to present “A Symposium on the Future of Chapter 11” on April 22 at Boston College Law School, in East Wing room 115. The daylong program will include a luncheon and will conclude with a cocktail party.
The symposium will focus on the most pressing issues facing the
bench and bar in small and large business cases. Practical solutions within
the framework of the Code will be discussed, as well as the potential effect
of S. 256, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005
(if passed), on Chapter 11 cases.
Participants include Chief Judge James B. Haines Jr. (Bankr. D. Maine) and Judge
William C. Hillman (Bankr. D. Mass.).
Joining them will be professors Douglas G. Baird of the University of Chicago
Law School, Ingrid Michelsen Hillinger of Boston College Law School, and Alan
N. Resnick of Hofstra University School of Law.
A host of the bar’s finest will also join the discussion, including: Evelyn
H. Biery, chair of the American College of Bankruptcy and a partner with Fulbright
& Jaworski; Steven H. Case, partner with Cohen & Co.; Hon. Ralph R.
Mabey, past chair of the American College of Bankruptcy and a partner at Mabey
& Murray; Richard E. Mikels, a partner with Mintz, Levin, Cohen, Ferris,
Glovsky and Popeo; and Harvey R. Miller, partner with Greenhill & Co., Inc.
Symposium papers will be published in the December 2005 issue of the Boston
College Law Review.
