ELS Presents New Not-For-Credit Course
3/04/05—The BC Environmental Law Society, with the support of Goodwin
Procter LLP, is pleased to announce a new not-for-credit interactive course
Environmental and Land Use Practice Skills. The new course will meet beginning
March 9, 2005, and run for the following six Wednesdays, from 4:15-5:45 pm in
East Wing Room 400.
The course will focus on the practice of environmental law. Participants will
gain exposure to basic research and major statutes/topics within the field,
giving them an advantage in obtaining and excelling in summer employment. Presenters
will represent a variety of sectors and viewpoints. Most of the participants
last year were 1Ls, though all students are encouraged to attend.
Presented by practitioners in the field, including several prominent attorneys
at Goodwin Procter, the second annual workshop series will take a hands-on approach
to teaching. The series will not only examine research skills and general principles
of administrative law, but also major statutes and areas of practice, such as
the Clean Water Act, Superfund, land use and due diligence. Many of the skills
gained from the series will be applicable to regulatory practice in fields outside
environmental law.
This series is largely a product of the tireless efforts of Robert L. Brennan,
Jr. (BC Law, 1996; BC, 1993), an Associate at Goodwin Procter LLP, who has dedicated
countless hours to the development of this series.
Please contact Jeff Perlman at perlmanj@bc.edu
for more information or to sign up for the series. Walk-ins are welcome.
