BC Law Among Top Ten Best Value
2/06/04 — Boston College Law School is pleased to announce that the School
has been placed among the 10 best Law Schools for the Money list for 2004. The
ranking, done by PreLaw Insider and National Jurist Magazines, places BC Law
second overall, tops in the “excellent value” category.
“We’re very happy to see our program recognized this way,”
said BC Law Dean John H. Garvey. “We have always felt that there is no
better place to get a legal education than Boston College Law School. But the
true value of a school cannot be found in statistical analysis. This is a tribute
to our faculty, staff and students, who bring the best to everything they do.”
The magazines used 6 factors in calculating its “Best Value” honors.
The factors included tuition, bar pass rate, unemployment rate of graduates,
the median grant as a percentage of tuition, the number of clinical slots available
relative to total enrollment, and faculty/student ratio. They used statistics
from the ABA-LSAC 2004 Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools.
Schools such as Brigham Young's J. Reuben Clark Law School, Northwestern Law
School, and Yale Law School were also mentioned in the ‘excellent’
and ‘very good’ value list for private schools. The schools were
chosen nation-wide and were graded on a 3.0 scale.
