Braxton Craven Moot Court Team Wins Best Brief

2/10/03--Director of Advocacy Programs Alexis Anderson has reported that the Boston College Law School Braxton Craven Constitutional Law Moot Court Team came in second (out of 29 teams) at the national competition, organized by the University of North Carolina Law School at Chapel Hill. The BC Law team also took home the best brief award.

"The Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, who presided at the finals, singled our team out for praise," said Anderson. "Our congratulations to the team comprised of Kristy Avino, Tara Blackman, Beth Nuzzo, and team manager, Jenna Barrows, and to their coach, Tom Barnico!"

The national competition was held from February 5-8, 2003, with the final round taking place at the North Carolina Supreme Court Building in Raleigh, NC. The 29 teams participating in the competition this year represented schools from all across the country. As is the tradition of the Craven Competition, the problem focused on constitutional law issues.
