College Law School is proud to announce that BC Law’s National Moot Court
Team won the New England Regional competition this weekend, beating Vermont
Law School in a closely-contested final round. The National Moot Court Team
has been on a remarkable winning streak, taking home the “Best Oralist”
award (Adam Bovilsky) in the semi-finals, and winning the “Best Brief”
in the finals as well as the overall competition.
“Our team members, Adam Bovilsky, Kenny Byrd, and Lisa Palin, with team
manager, Brandon Barkhuff, were truly marvelous advocates, handling questions
ranging from intellectual property issues to First Amendment/commercial speech
questions with aplomb,” said Director of Advocacy Programs Alexis Anderson.
“The team, so ably coached by Dean Clay and Ch. J. Wilkins, will now represent
the school in the prestigious Nationals to be held in NYC in early February.
Congratulations to all!”
The National Moot Court Competition consists of two rounds of arguments, the
regionals and the finals. The U.S. is divided into fourteen regions; within
each region a sponsor designated by the Competition Committee conducts regional
rounds for the law schools located within that region. Teams that qualify in
the regional rounds are eligible to enter the final rounds.
