McMillen Joins BC Law Career Services Team

5/01/02--Boston College Law School is pleased to announce the hiring of Elissa L. McMillen to the position of Associate Director of Career Services. McMillen will share the position with current Associate Director Carolyn Walsh, who will be working Monday through Wednesday. McMillen will be working Thursday and Friday.

"I am delighted that Elissa McMillen will be a part of our staff," said Director of Career Services Jean French. "She has experience counseling and planning educational programs for law students. She also has experience helping make hiring decisions for a large firm. Her experience from both sides of the job search process will be an invaluable resource for our students."

A BC Law graduate, since the fall of 2001 McMillen has served as the career counselor at the Suffolk University Law School, where she created events to enhance career development and provided resume critique and mock interviews for students. From 1997 through early 2001, she served as an associate in the trial department and banking and finance department at Brown, Rudnick, Freed and Gesmer. Prior to that she worked as a legal intern in the domestic relations department at the firm, where she was responsible for hiring decisions, marketing the firm to prospective employees, and coordinating and attending social functions for groups of up to seventy-five attorneys.
McMillen also worked as a legal intern for the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, in the University of Michigan Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship. From the Fall of 1994 through the Spring of 1995, she was an assistant at the Boston College Law School career services office, where she organized on-campus legal recruiting sessions.

Elissa McMillen received her undergraduate degree in 1992 from Dartmouth College and is a 1997 graduate of Boston College Law School.
