BC Law Holds at #22 In US News Rankings

4/05/02--Boston College Law School held its place at number 22 in the latest rankings released by US News & World Report.

On newsstands Monday, April 8, the report ranks 175 ABA-accredited law schools, taking into account a number of measures, including reputation, student selectivity, placement success, and faculty resources.

US News uses a weighted average to determine each school's final placement. A school's score on each indicator was standardized. Then scores were weighted, totaled, and rescaled so that the top school received 100 and other schools received a percentage of the top score. BC Law received an overall score of 65.

Boston College Law School was among the top 5 law schools in application volume this year, drawing an all-time high 7,232 applications for 255 available seats, a nearly 30% increase from last year. The other schools ahead of BC Law in application volume all have significantly larger entering classes.
