Rebecca Young Awarded Soros Fellowship

12/27/00--Boston College Law School third-year student Rebecca Young has been awarded the prestigious Soros Postgraduate Fellowship, an extremely competitive award in the area of public interest law

The goal of the Soros Justice Postgraduate Fellowship program, which was first offered in 1997, is to fund outstanding recent graduates in law and other disciplines related to criminal justice in order to initiate innovative projects that will have a measurable impact on the criminal justice system. The Fellowship consists of a two-year project implemented in partnership with leading nonprofit and government agencies whose mission is related to criminal justice. Only eight awards will be made in 2000. Fellows receive a stipend of $37,5000 per year and assistance with loan debt.

The Soros Justice Fellowships are a program of the Center on Crime, Communities & Culture, which is a project of the Open Society Institute, a private foundation.
