Wirth to Co-Chair Upcoming Conference
10/16/00--Boston College Law School and Suffolk Law School are co-sponsoring an interdisciplinary conference Science and International Trade on October 20, 2000. The conference will feature BCLS Professor David Wirth as Conference Co-Chair.
The conference is designed to gather scientists, science policy and trade law experts to discuss the role science is playing in the international trade regime and international economic relations. Covering controversial topics such as beef hormones, eco-labelling, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), it will also aim more generally at what science can and cannot do in resolving international trade disputes.
The conference will be held at Suffolk Law School, and will begin at 9:00 am. Admission is free and open to the public; there is no registration fee. Attendees are requested to RSVP, although walk-in registration is also available.
