Faculty/Library Contact Program
The law library staff's goal is to increase our ability to support faculty research and instruction even in the midst of what seems to all of us to be an information explosion. Your Faculty/Library contact person will periodically meet with you to gather information about your current research projects, explore ways in which we can help you in your classroom instruction, and determine what other assistance can be of the greatest help to you. In addition, we would like to refresh your memory about existing library services. Based on information gathered on those occasions, your contact will be responsible for staying abreast of your teaching and research interests to help you, your students and your research assistants be aware of pertinent research sources and how to use them effectively.
We want to be clear that the librarian who is your contact person is not your only library resource. We hope that the faculty contact program can indeed bring you more personalized service but it is meant to complement, not replace, existing services in the library. All members of the Education and Reference staff are ready to help you with reference questions and collection issues; the staff at the Information Desk will help you with circulation and delivery issues; and members of the Administrative and Technology Resources staff can help you with hardware and software concerns. You should feel free, however, to call your contact or the Information Desk (617-552-4434) when you don't know where within the library to turn for help. Your contact should be able to point you in the right direction if he or she is not the person who can answer your question.
If you are not sure who your Faculty/Library contact is, please contact Mark Sullivan at 617-552-2896.
