Research with CaseMap
As research increasingly lives on our computer, we often find ourselves looking for better ways to manage the many (and often peculiarly named) files. CaseMap is one solution that we’ve been experimenting with at BCLS.
CaseMap® fact and issue management software helps litigation teams bring together the relevant facts, documents, cast of characters and issues of each case—as well as legal and investigative research—into a centralized repository for improved case assessment. With CaseMap, you have a unique opportunity to maximize case knowledge, see connections you might otherwise miss, differentiate your practice and ease collaboration.
After a presentation in Spring 2011 by LexisNexis representatives, Diane Ring, Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, asked us to prepare a research demonstration on CaseMap for a summer faculty brown bag. We were able to work with LexisNexis to create a customized research template that transforms this case management tool into a robust research platform. You can store documents, create tags and associations, and build outlines and fact trails, all of which can help you discover new relationships and stay organized.
