Michael B. Isaacs '74 Named First Executive Director of RIADTC

Michael B. Isaacs '74 has been retained by the Rhode Island Association of Defense Trial Counsel as its first Executive Director, as announced today by James T. Murphy, President of the RIADTC. Mr. Isaacs will be responsible for managing the association, conducting its public policy activities and developing new programs for member attorneys and associate members. In making the announcement, Mr. Murphy said, "Our association intends to increase our participation in tort reform and other issues that are of importance to our members and their clients and all citizens concerned with higher insurance rates, higher product costs, loss of jobs and clogged courts. We also want to enhance the services and educational programs provided to our members. Michael Isaacs has the background and expertise that will enable us to achieve these goals." Mr. Isaacs is an attorney admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. Prior positions held include Vice President - Development at Bresnan Communications and Vice President - Government & Corporate Relations at The Providence Journal Company. Among his civic activities, Mr. Isaacs is chair of the East Greenwich Finance Board and serves on the boards of Channel 36 (RI Public Telecommunications Authority), the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island and the Jewish Seniors Agency. He is a graduate of Boston College Law School. The Rhode Island Association of Defense Trial Counsel is the state association of defense trial lawyers. It provides educational and support services for its members. It is an advocate for tort reform and improvements in the judicial system.
