Hot Seats, Cool Heads

Polarization has rarely seemed more severe in Washington. So it is especially gratifying to hear the eight Boston College Law School alumni who now serve in Congress or recently left office share insights on effective leadership and trade anecdotes of cross-party cooperation. Answering a set of questions, they all offered encouraging examples of outreach across the aisle despite the ugly climate, and without surrendering their own principles. Reading these thoughtful replies, it’s hard to believe that Congress nearly took the nation into default in partisan stalemate. BC Law ought to bottle its potent ethos and sell it throughout the congressional market.
The following are the complete transcripts of the interviews conducted for BC Law Magazine's Spring/Summer 2012 edition.
