BC Law Reunion 2006
celebrating 75 years
Does your class end in a 1 or a 6? Then your Law School Reunion is coming up
this October. The 2006 Boston College Law School Reunion Program is now in full
swing, with Reunion Committees forming for each of the classes. Reunion Committees
are a great way to reconnect with the Law School and with your classmates, and
to help ensure the success of your Reunion. If you are interested in helping
out on your Committee, please contact Christine Kelly, Director of the Law School
Fund, at 617 552-4703 or kellychr@bc.edu.
In celebration of the Law School's 75th Anniversary, this year's Reunion festivities
will be extra-special. We will begin the Reunion weekend on Friday,October 13th
with an old favorite - a good old-fashioned Bar Review on campus. Good friends
in a casual atmosphere - the perfect way for BC Law grads to really re-live
the law school experience. On Saturday evening, we will take it up a notch with
an elegant cocktail reception and dinner at the Ritz-Carlton on Arlington Street
in Boston (often referred to as the "old Ritz"). In addition, if you
wish to start your Reunion weekend even earlier, on Thursday evening, October
12th, we will be hosting a BC Law School Tailgate at the BC v. Virginia Tech
football game (watch for further details on this and all the events).
A relatively new component to the BC Law Reunion Program is the Reunion Class
Gift. In the past year or so, the Law School has begun an organized giving initiative
centered around Reunions. This has proven to be an enormous success, with last
year's Reunion classes raising well over $2 million dollars in support of such
programs as scholarships, faculty research and loan repayment assistance. This
year, all gifts to the Law School from June 1, 2005 to the date of the Reunion
will count to the Class Reunion Gift. At the Reunion, we will announce each
class's Gift Amount and Participation Percentage, and we will further report
on this in the BC Law Magazine (look out for the 2005 Reunion Report in the
Spring issue). To make a contribution to your class gift, you can go to www.bc.edu/lawschoolfund.
