Karen Fikes (BC Law '03) has written a fascinating account of the history of women in legal education and at Boston College Law School. Karen is currently a Lieutenant in the JAG Corps of the United States Navy.

Karen was born New Jersey and joined Navy after high school, where she served for four years. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington, and graduated with BA in Legal History (Summa Cum Laude). She then attended Boston College Law School 2000-2003

Karen entered Navy JAG Corps 2003, and is currently practicing as a legal services and a defense attorney at Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California.
