Associate Professor, Global Practice and Older Adults & Families
Ce Shen, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW). He joined the faculty in 2003 and received his doctoral degree in Sociology in 1996. Dr. Shen was a research associate conducting institutional research, survey research, program evaluation, and data analysis for cross-national comparative studies at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education. Prior to joining GSSW, he also worked as a research consultant, providing support to faculty and graduate students in quantitative research including research design, methodology, data management, and data analysis.
In 2006, as a Principal Investigator, Dr. Shen obtained funding from the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for the research project "Learning from the Cash & Counseling Demonstration Evaluation: People with Mental Illness Self-Directed Care".
Dr. Shen is part of the School’s Global Practice concentration. In the Doctoral Program, he has taught Social Research Methods, Statistical Analysis for Social & Behavioral Research, Structural Equation Modeling, Multivariate Analysis and Statistical Modeling, and Multilevel and Longitudinal Data Analysis. In the Master’s Program, he led Program Evaluation courses, and also led an international course focused on Social Development in China.
