Common Ground
Formed by a diverse group of students to provide a forum to address issues of difference on personal, interpersonal, and societal levels. Common Ground seeks students interested in moving beyond mere tolerance to an understanding and appreciation of difference.
Community Action Committee
Promotes student involvement in social justice activities and advocacy initiatives.
Globe
Brings GSSW international students and their allies together to provide a welcoming environment for international students and to advocate on their behalf in the GSSW and throughout the Boston College community.
HIV/AIDS Committee
Seeks to increase awareness among members of the GSSW Community of HIV/AIDS.
Social Events Committee
Plans events overseen by the Social Events Coordinator, including barbecues, holiday celebrations, and monthly activities promoting community.
Social Work and Spirituality
A forum for students of various spiritual backgrounds to explore the intersection between their spiritual beliefs and practices and their professional practice as social workers.
Spectrum
Created for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered students and their allies to educate and inform the larger social work community about diversity, homophobia, heterosexism, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
Three-Year Program Student Group
Supports students in the three- or four-year programs of study.
Umoja: Student Organization for People of Color
Provides support for students of Asian, Native American, African, and Latino ancestry and seeks to increase the community's awareness of issues related to people of color.
