Amy LaCombe joins the Portico program from her current position as Assistant Dean for Advising in the Carroll School Undergraduate Program, where she had primary responsibilities for advising sophomores and juniors in the Carroll School. Before this latest position, Amy was a full-time lecturer in the Accounting Department for 5 years, teaching courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and assurance services (in the M.S.A. program). Amy has also served as the faculty advisor to AHANA Management Academy and advised students throughout her nearly 13 years at Boston College. She has also taught first year courses like The Courage To Know and Introduction to Ethics. Amy has a B.S. in Management (accounting concentration) from Boston College, a M.S. in counseling education from Syracuse University, a C.A.S in counseling education from Syracuse University, an M.B.A. from the Carroll School of Management and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the Lynch School of Education. Amy’s dissertation research focused on whether first generation student status is a predictor of factors such as graduation rate, grade point average, and choice of study.
