The Lynch Leadership Academy Summer Institute is a one-of-a-kind forum that gives urban school leaders the opportunity to learn from local and national experts in education and business and from each other. The skills and vision that the invited scholar-experts share encourage Fellows to develop systems and policies that increase the academic success of their students.
The 10-day summer institute, held in July, hosts interactive discussions focused on a wide range of topics pertinent to the vitality and success of urban schools including school culture, instructional leadership, team building, database decision making, political realities, educational equity, and institutional advancement. Discussions and lectures draw upon the expertise of invited Boston College faculty, visiting lecturers, veteran school leaders, and experts from school departments, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
During the institute, Fellows not only learn from scholar-practitioners, but also continue to develop a network of principals that provides ongoing knowledge and support. The sessions offer fresh ideas, tools, and skills for the Fellows to use in their schools and communities.
