Katharine Needham | Assistant Principal, Match Community Day Charter School
Katharine grew up outside of Boston, and studied anthropology at Wesleyan University. After graduating, she spent a year coaching lacrosse at a boarding school in England, and then moved to NYC to work for Teach For America. After working in operations for a year on their recruitment team, she became a corps member with Teach For America in New Orleans, Louisiana. She taught first and second grade for five years at Andrew H. Wilson Charter School and Success Preparatory Academy. During that time she earned her Master’s degree in education (Curriculum and Instruction) at the University of New Orleans, and is a certified Literacy Specialist. She joined the Match Community Day Charter School team this past summer as the Assistant Principal, and is passionate about supporting the scholars, their families, and teachers.
