Educational Background: Master of education in math and science education, Harvard University; bachelor of science in biology and art, Cornell University.

School Information: Thomas Edison K-8 School in Brighton, MA, serves 718 students and has a student population that is 45% Latino/Hispanic, 25% black/African-American, 13% Asian, and 12% White. Students come from 65 different countries and speak over 25 different languages. Of these students, 83% qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Prior Experience: Mary’s prior experience includes serving as assistant principal/director of instruction at Mildred Avenue Middle School in Mattapan, MA, and lead teacher for mathematics at Chelsea Public Schools.
