The Carroll School welcomes MBA applicants from around the globe. International students account for more than 30 percent of our Full-Time MBA student body and represent nations as diverse as Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Vietnam.
To apply as an international student, submit the application for admission with all supporting materials. For additional information, see below.
In order to be eligible for any graduate program, international applicants are required to hold a college or university degree equivalent to a four-year American bachelors degree. We recommend that you confirm your educational equivalency with a credential evaluation organization such as World Education Services, and then upload the verification report to your online application.
WHEN TO APPLY
The Admissions Committee strongly encourages international applicants to apply by the second round deadline (January 15) to allow ample time to secure a student visa.
All applicants must submit a self-reported transcript with course names translated into English. There is no need to convert your GPA to the 4.0 scale.
LANGUAGE TESTS & REQUIREMENTS
All students whose first language is not English are required to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or the Pearson Test of English (PTE).
The minimum required score on the TOEFL is 100 on the Internet-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, and 600 on the paper-based test. The minimum required score on the IELTS is a 7.5 band score. The minimum required score on the PTE is 68. TOEFL, IELTS and PTE scores are valid for two years.
The language requirement can be waived:
- If you completed a four-year bachelor’s degree at an institution where the medium language of instruction is English. You must have completed your degree in its entirety at the English-medium institution. The medium language of instruction must be indicated on your transcript or verified in an official letter from the institution.
- if you completed a two-year master’s degree at an institution where the medium language of instruction is English. You must have completed your degree in its entirety at the English-medium institution. The medium language of instruction must be indicated on your transcript or verified in an official letter from the institution.
- if you have worked full time in the United States for two or more years.
There is no need to submit visa-related materials at the time of application. The Carroll School’s Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) will work closely with each incoming student to ensure that materials are prepared in a timely fashion to complete the visa application and I-20 appointment.
