Alvis Lo
Instructor - Accounting Department

Alvis Lo joined the faculty of Boston College in the summer of 2011. He obtained his BA in Accounting and Finance and MA in Risk Management with distinction from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He expects to receive his PhD in Accounting from the University of British Columbia this winter. Prior to his doctoral program, Alvis was a research associate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also worked as a banker in Hong Kong before.
Alvis has teaching interests in financial and managerial accounting. His current research focuses on the interaction between financial reporting and corporate financing activities. He has written papers on topics such as the impact of accounting restatements on corporate financing choices, the effect of accounting credibility on banks' access to external financing, and how the supply of external capital affects managers' disclosure choices.
