Professor Victoria (Vicky) L. Crittenden is a member of the marketing department faculty at Boston College, where she served as department chair for nine years and chair of the M.B.A. core faculty for three years. Her research in a wide range of marketing strategy topics (e.g., sustainability, family business, ethics/corruption, emerging economies, cross-functional decision-making, direct selling) has been published in journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Marketing Letters, Sloan Management Review, Business Horizons, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Corporate Reputation Review, Journal of Managerial Issues, and Journal of Public Affairs.
SELECTED APPOINTMENTS AND AWARDS
Professor Crittenden is a Visiting Global Scholar in the D.B.A. Program at the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, Visiting Ph.D. Faculty at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden, and Adjunct Faculty at Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria. She has served as visiting faculty at the University of Ulster in Belfast (N. Ireland), The American College of Greece MBA Program in Athens (Greece), and University Robert Schuman, IECS in Strasbourg (France). She is also a faculty member for the Irish Institute at Boston College where she teaches executive education sessions on customer service and innovation.
Professor Crittenden is President of the Academy of Marketing Science and Immediate Past-Chair of the Teaching & Learning Special Interest Group for the American Marketing Association. She is Co-Editor of the AMS Review and serves on several editorial review boards.
Her educational scholarship has been recognized externally by her receipt of the 2005 Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award given annually by the Academy of Marketing Science and the acceptance, publication, and awards for her research on teaching pedagogy in journals such as the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Journal of Marketing Education, Marketing Education Review, BizEd, Journal of Education for Business, Journal of Advancement of Marketing Education, and Journal of Teaching in International Business. Professor Crittenden’s contributions as a case researcher, case writer, and case teacher have been recognized and acknowledged outside the Boston College community, and she is also co-author of Strategic Marketing Management Cases.
In 2008, she was honored as a Distinguished Fellow in the Academy of Marketing Science. While attending the Harvard Business School, she was the recipient of the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation Dissertation Fellowship and the Stephen X. Doyle Doctoral Fellowship Award. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Lyon College, where she is chair of the education committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Academic Advisory Board for CUTCO/Vector. Professor Crittenden travels extensively worldwide, presenting her research and holding various educational workshops.
