Edward Barrows, MBA

Lecturer - Operations Management department

Edward Barrows is a Lecturer at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management where he teaches various strategic management courses and serves as faculty advisor to the International Consulting Project.   

Professionally, he is an independent management consultant.  In his client engagements he guides senior management teams in improving their strategic planning processes, strategic performance management systems and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Previously, Ed was a Vice President and executive education leader for Palladium Inc. a specialty consulting firm focused on helping organizations execute strategy.  He helped create the firm’s strategy development methodology and guided three clients into the Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame for strategy execution.  His client work has been featured in four books and numerous articles by Harvard Business Publishing.  He has written seven articles himself for Harvard Business Publishing and one for MIT’s Supply Chain newsletter.  Prior to joining Palladium he held a variety of professional services positions with Deloitte, GE Capital, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  

Before starting his private sector career Ed served on active duty as a logistics officer in the Marine Corps.  He has commanded at the platoon, detachment and company level participating in combat operations on two separate occasions throughout the Middle East.  He retired in 2007 having reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Ed holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the School of Management at Boston University and a MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He is a DBA candidate at Cranfield University’s School of Management in England where he is a researcher in Cranfield’s Centre for Business Performance.   He is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia.
